Eggplant

Eggplant

Eggplant (Solanum melongena) is a nutrient-dense, low-calorie vegetable that is also traditionally medicinally powerful.
It is rich in fibre, antioxidants, potassium, manganese, magnesium and copper.
Eggplant has a very special action against skin cancers, when used topically. In fact, an over the counter cream is available in the UK, containing just .005% active ingredient from eggplant, and showing a success rate of 60-78% against skin cancers, after only 8 weeks of use.
Eggplants contain solasodine rhamnosyl glycosides, which have been shown in test-tube and some human studies to induce death in cancer cells without harming normal cells. SRGs appear to be especially effective against basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma when applied topically.
Eggplant skin is rich in anthocyanin antioxidants, including nasunin, which protects brain cell membranes from damage and reduces oxidative stress. It is believed eggplant may protect against DNA damage and mutations.
Traditionally Eggplant has been used for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, improved circulation, protection of heart muscle, atherosclerosis, blood sugar stabilization, diabetes, weight loss, cancer, skin cancer, for protection of brain cells from damage, asthma, bronchitis, toothaches, gout, rheumatism and more.
Wow!!! If you have never liked eggplant, then maybe now is the time to give it another try.
