Gooseberries

Gooseberries

Gooseberries are potent, nutrient-dense and deliciously sweet and tart fruits.

The vitamin C content in gooseberries can be as much as 20 x higher than oranges.

Just 1 cup (150 grams) of gooseberries contains fibre, 46% of daily value (DV) of vitamin C, 9% of DV of Vitamin B5, 7% of DV of vitamin B6, 12% of DV of copper, 9% of DV of Manganese and 6% of DV of potassium.

Much research is underway for their anti-proliferate properties which help prevent the growth of cancer cells.

Rich in chromium, they help improve insulin sensitivity and regulate blood sugar. Ellagitannins in the fruit reduce blood glucose levels.

Traditionally gooseberries have been used medicinally for diabetes, high cholesterol, immune boosting, heart health, digestion aid, reduction of inflammation, protection of liver/kidney function, skin health, hair health, blood vessel strengthening, reduction of triglycerides, constipation, persistent heartburn, hair follicle strengthening, acne, skin brightening, detoxification, liver issues, anaemia, burning of the eyes, asthma, bronchitis, weight management, bone health, eye health, diarrhoea, jaundice, skin cancer, hair loss, stress, anxiety, colds, high blood pressure, scurvy, memory decline, skin aging, reproductive issues and much more.

Wow!!! Nature provides our medicine in our food and always has done.
